Since moving to the Highlands of
Scotland I have been
constantly amazed by the outstanding natural beauty that exists
here. So often, in the
British Isles, we are guilty of taking our
surroundings for granted but the combination of solidity and
fragility that co-exists in these wild places demands
that we are not complacent in our attitude towards them.
Photography has proved my method for portraying the spirit
of the outdoors and I have pursued it with the
eagerness of the keen amateur. Although I use a
digital format I do not believe in excessive manipulation
of images. I prefer to rely on the light and composition at
the time of shooting to capture the most dramatic effect.
