A trek up onto the Cairngorm Plateau the previous day
had taken us through wind and icy rain to find a
wonderful location for wild camping high above
Loch Avon.
With the monstrosity of the Cairngorm ski development
left behind the wild majesty of a'Monaidh Ruaidh
was complete. The dawn saw the Red Mountains
competing with the red sky! The mountains won and
the sky faded to grey but not before I was able
to attempt to capture the moment as best I could
through the imperfect eye of the camera lens.
